Cursor is accused of uploading 63,106 files and 736 MB of source code

A user warns against using Cursor if you care about code privacy, citing a quoted complaint that the tool uploaded 63,106 files — about 736 MB of source code — to Cursor’s servers even after the subscription had been canceled.
The complaint says the uploads happened simply from opening folders and using Cursor as a pure IDE, with no obvious way to delete the data afterward. The core issue is whether the tool should be sending code to its servers even when the user is not actively using AI features.
