Google and KDDI launch a Japan AI startup program with up to $2M per company
Google AI Futures Fund and KDDI Open Innovation Fund have started an AI Startup Support Program for Japanese AI startups.
- Selected startups can receive up to $2 million in joint investment.
- The package also includes Google Cloud credits, GPU cloud resources, and early access to Google DeepMind models such as Gemini, Gemma, Nano Banana, and Lyria.
- Google and KDDI say they will provide technical mentorship and go-to-market support, with applications open to startups from pre-seed through Series A.
- The program focuses on five areas: the future of work, knowledge, software development, creativity, and entertainment.
