Claude Opus 5 was used to build a browser-based macOS clone with 30 working apps
The post claims someone built macOS in the browser with Claude Opus 5, all in one HTML file and no build step. The demo reportedly includes 30 functional apps and recreates familiar system features such as:
- Safari with tabs and Reader View
- a working terminal
- live weather
- music generated from code
- Spotlight, Mission Control and Launchpad
- dark mode that repaints the UI
It’s presented as a “just open it and it runs” showcase — more of an impressive AI-generated desktop parody than a conventional software product.
