LightRAG v1.5.3 adds a one-time Milvus migration and hardens production edge cases
JeremyCMorgan · x · 2026-07-28
LightRAG’s v1.5.3 release notes read like a list of production scars:
- It calls out issues such as Lucene reserved characters, XML control characters, and LLM JSON getting mangled by LaTeX escapes.
- For existing Milvus deployments, upgrading now triggers a one-time automatic migration on the next initializestorages(): the legacy collection is copied into a new model-suffixed collection before the service becomes ready.
- The release warns that this can add startup time and temporarily reduce write throughput on large collections, but the migration only happens once.
- The old {workspace}{namespace} collection is kept for safety and not deleted automatically.
