Baidu_Inc · x · 2026-07-28
Baidu has begun testing autonomous vehicles in London as part of its partnership with Lyft and Freenow, the German ride-hailing app Lyft acquired in 2025.
The test starts with human safety operators and comes ahead of a planned rollout of Baidu’s Apollo Go RT6 robotaxi across key European markets through Lyft’s platform. London is becoming a crowded robotaxi battleground, with Waymo and Uber/Wayve also pushing into the city.
