Google ships Open Knowledge Format v0.2 to give agents trust signals before reading

Google shipped Open Knowledge Format v0.2, a backward-compatible spec aimed at agentic trust.
The update moves trust signals into frontmatter so an agent can decide whether to read something before spending tokens on it:
- sources: where the page came from, including author and usage count
- generated / verified: separates who wrote it from who checked it
- staleafter: a date-based freshness check
- status: draft, stable, or deprecated
- Attested Computation: an approved query template that the agent can parameterize but never rewrite
The core idea is to shift from describing a concept to deciding whether it is safe and current enough to use.
