A Futurism report says some publicly shared Claude chats and Artifacts were indexed by Google, exposing sensitive personal and company information.
- Claude’s share links create public pages that anyone with the URL can view.
- Anthropic relied on robots.txt, which cannot reliably prevent indexing.
- Some published Artifacts also warned they could appear in search results.
- Anthropic said the system was working as intended, but the report highlights a privacy gap between “public link” sharing and search visibility.
