Hermes Desktop Avatar wraps a local agent in an always-on-top chat UI
TinfoilTricorn · x · 2026-07-28
A developer built Hermes Desktop Avatar, an always-on-top desktop UI shell for a local Hermes Agent.
- Double-click the avatar to chat with the agent.
- It can take screenshots on request and respond with TTS.
- The project is an early personal tool, but the repo is public and includes the implementation details for a PySide6-based desktop client with an OpenAI-compatible HTTP API.
The author says it works on their machine and invites issues/PRs, but warns that the documentation is only a starting point.
