Kimi K3 report says AgentENV uses Firecracker microVMs for agent sandboxes

A Kimi K3 technical report screenshot highlights AgentENV, a sandbox system for agentic AI workloads that uses Firecracker microVMs to provide stronger isolation than containers.
The report says the system was built around three goals:
- High-fidelity isolation for agents that may try aggressive or unexpected actions
- Flexible life-cycle controls such as incremental checkpointing, resume, pause, fork, and snapshot
- High efficiency and high density via overlay-based storage, custom transport, and memory/page-cache optimizations
It also claims the training and evaluation process created over 51 million sandboxed runs across 1.5 million+ images.
