Claude's Shared Chats and Artifacts Inadvertently Exposed via Google Search
RebeccaBellan · x · 2026-07-28
Reddit users recently discovered that searching specific operators on Google surfaced publicly accessible links to Claude shared chats and Artifacts.
Some of these exposed conversations contained highly sensitive data, including health records, private company documents, and children's names and phone numbers. The issue stems from Claude's 'share chat' feature, which generates links intended for select friends or colleagues but failed to prevent search engine indexing, unlike similar sharing features such as Google Docs.
