Verizon is betting on AI infrastructure with a $1 billion-plus dark fiber deal with Google and a push to turn old central offices into mini data centers.

Verizon also said it expects additional AI deals worth multiple billions of dollars over the next several years, with robotics, remote surgery, and autonomous driving cited as target use cases.
