Critics point out that Nvidia's investment in the AI safety and security ecosystem is trivial. Its support for open-source is clearly motivated by maximizing profits rather than moral duty. While this brings positive externalities, the industry shouldn't glamorize what are essentially profit-maximizing decisions.
