YC-backed Atomarine pitches nuclear-powered floating data centers

Y Combinator is highlighting Atomarine, a S26 startup building nuclear-powered floating data centers.

The pitch argues that land-based data centers hit practical limits: grid interconnection queues can take up to a decade, local communities absorb the resource burden, and development is hard to replicate. Atomarine’s answer is standalone power + compute on floating infrastructure, which it says can be deployed anywhere and built 4x faster than on land.
