AMD and Anthropic strike a 2GW MI450 deal with up to $5B in AMD investment

AMD and Anthropic announced a strategic partnership to deploy up to 2 GW of AMD Instinct MI450 GPUs, with AMD also planning to invest up to $5 billion.
The deal ties together model demand and chip supply at massive scale. For Anthropic, it secures a very large pool of compute. For AMD, it is a strategic validation of the MI450 line and a way to deepen its position in the AI infrastructure stack.
Because the announcement comes directly from the two companies and includes concrete capacity and investment numbers, it reads as one of the clearest AI infrastructure-commercialization stories in the batch.
