NVIDIA backs Safe Superintelligence with a substantial investment and 10x more compute

NVIDIA is making a “substantial” investment in Ilya Sutskever’s Safe Superintelligence and supplying enough GPUs to increase the lab’s compute by roughly 10x.
According to the post, SSI had mainly relied on Google TPUs before the deal. The new long-term partnership gives the secretive lab access to NVIDIA’s next-generation Vera Rubin platform, after NVIDIA got a rare look at SSI’s research.
