Nvidia May Back OpenAI's Massive Compute Leases to Funnel Through NeoClouds
curious_vii · x · 2026-07-27
Commenting on reports that Nvidia might guarantee up to $250 billion in compute leases for OpenAI, industry analysts suggest Nvidia would likely channel this through the NeoClouds it already backstops. This avoids empowering competitive hyperscalers who are actively developing their own silicon.
The strategy positions Nvidia as the central hub, locking OpenAI into its GPU ecosystem and controlled supply chain while starving rival chip development.
