What PrimeTask added
PrimeTask, a desktop app for tasks, projects, notes, CRM, time tracking, and a visual canvas, now ships with a built-in MCP server.
What users can do
- Ask the app questions like which projects are overdue or which contacts have not been touched in a month.
- Create or update work items by chat: set up a client project, add tasks, link contacts, log calls, add companies, or edit custom fields.
- Do it through ChatGPT or Claude instead of clicking through the UI.
Deployment and control
- The server runs on localhost, so the setup stays on the user's machine.
- Users decide what it can read, what it can change, and which spaces it can touch.
- Every action is written to an audit log.
- The same local integration is said to work with ChatGPT, Codex, Claude, Cursor, and LM Studio.
Setup
The author says setup takes three steps from the app settings, and one setup covers both ChatGPT and Codex.
