Nvidia is reportedly discussing a guarantee of up to $250 billion to help OpenAI lease compute for a $500 billion data center project led by SoftBank.
- The guarantee would cover the data-center lease and related debt, not the Nvidia chips themselves.
- Separately, Nvidia is also said to be exploring financing for OpenAI chip purchases that could total $350 billion.
- The report highlights how circular AI financing and massive power/compute buildouts are still accelerating, with the first phase of the campus expected around 2028 and roughly 800 MW of power.
