AMD plans up to $5B investment in Anthropic tied to 2GW of MI450 chips

AMD said it will invest up to $5B in Anthropic as part of a deal tied to deploying up to 2 gigawatts of AMD Instinct MI450 chips.
The rollout is expected to start in the first half of 2027, and Anthropic will also use Claude to help build out AMD's ROCm software stack.
