Dev Reviews 10+ AI Coding Harnesses: Hermes + DeepSeek Wins for Value
SyrupInternational48 · reddit · 2026-07-27
A developer shared hands-on experience testing multiple AI coding harnesses over six months on medium-to-large full-stack projects:
- Hermes + DeepSeek V4 Flash: Their current go-to combo. Often criticized for coding, it performs decently when paired with Aphrodite without stalling.
- Cline: Features a solid Kanban and planning system, though setup is tedious.
- Paid Tools: Cursor and Factory.io are excellent but burn too many tokens. Antigravity offers good value. GLM (5.2) has superior code quality but high costs. Kimi offers huge quotas but weaker code quality. GitHub Copilot burns through budgets the fastest.
The author is looking for new tools with stronger coding capabilities and asked for feedback on Jcode and super-agentic.ai.
