Nvidia is reportedly in talks to finance up to $250 billion of OpenAI’s datacenter buildout in Ohio, in what could become the largest announced AI infrastructure project yet.
- The campus could cost more than $500 billion in total and is expected to start phase one in 2028 with about 800 MW of capacity.
- The U.S. government is said to be involved in the power arrangement through a federally backed project funded by Japan under a recent trade deal.
- Nvidia is also discussing financing OpenAI’s chip purchases, which could reach $350 billion, underscoring how tightly AI infrastructure, power, and financing are becoming linked.
