Alexandr Wang says startup speed, talent density, and conviction still beat raw agent resources
ycombinator · x · 2026-07-27
At YC Startup School 26, Meta CAO Alexandr Wang argued that startups need conviction in ideas others dismiss, learn quickly because nobody is naturally good at the earliest stage, and focus on attracting exceptional talent because talent density compounds.
He also said speed is the most critical factor, and predicted the bottleneck will shift from raw agents/resources toward vision and ambition. Even so, he stressed that systematic thinking and rigorous workflows will still matter for building AI agents.
