AlphaGo is used as a case study for how superhuman AI can still improve humans

The post argues that it would have been interesting if AlphaGo had first learned from human games, then used scalable self-play to go beyond humans, while still being limited to human-level play for others.
The author’s main point is that AlphaGo did, in practice, improve human Go players: even a system that surpassed human performance still helped people get better at the game.
