Y Combinator argues that APIs are still bad at communicating breaking changes, so customers often learn only when things fail.
The pitch: coding agents could invert that workflow. Instead of just sending changelog notes, an API provider could identify every affected usage in a customer codebase and open the fix as a pull request itself. YC ends by inviting builders of this idea to apply for the Fall 2026 batch.
