As AI-generated code spreads, experienced engineers are questioning code review
The thread argues that code review has limited value for experienced teams: it helps juniors learn, but beyond that engineers should own their own quality and correctness.
It says the real replacements are:
- good testing
- design review
- judging whether you can trust what you built
The quoted example from Gergely Orosz says a senior engineer stopped reviewing most AI-generated code and is only keeping reviews for key parts of the product, while still not having a clear replacement for review.
