SemiAnalysis says one weak member may have dragged down Nemotron pretraining

A reply in the thread says SemiAnalysis believes Mistral may have hurt Nemotron pretraining, and that NVIDIA’s single-committee setup creates a fragility problem: if one member underperforms, the whole committee suffers and others become frustrated.
The post extends the critique by saying committee-based training limits the flow of ideas across different routes, reinforces groupthink, and is therefore not the right direction for frontier open models.
