Former Kimi AI search lead raises $2 million for a marriage-matching app with a three-year refund

A former AI search lead who left Kimi has built an AI matchmaking product called Liangpei and raised a $2 million angel round from Xu Xin. The app starts with a 20-minute voice chat with an AI matchmaker, then uses values, upbringing and lifestyle signals instead of only age, height and education to make matches.

The product also adds unusually strict anti-fraud gates: real-name verification, face recognition, and an AI profile score of at least 70 before going live. In its first week, it blocked more than 50 married users. Its pricing is also unusual: members pay RMB 2,000, and if they do not get married within three years, they get a full refund.
