AI pause is not a button, the real lever is cyber resilience

The author argues that “pause/restrict” is not a workable button on the AI Atari controller; instead, it is an intractable coordination problem. Rather than wasting low-expected-value effort trying to stop the trajectory outright, they recommend focusing on leverage points for what is coming.
Their own example is cyber resilience: if frontier AI is going to keep advancing, then strengthening systems against cyber risk is a more useful place to spend effort than chasing a simplistic stop-the-world solution.
