OpenAI Chief Futurist Joshua Achiam says he feels AGI is already here, and that most people have mostly shrugged at the change.
His argument is not that society has noticed a dramatic single moment, but that people have become accustomed to not understanding the logistics and technical systems that run the modern world. In that context, he says, a major shift can happen “deep in the background” without most people recognizing it as such.
