OpenAI Codex accused of hammering SSDs, with a user recommending Hermes Agent instead
In a quoted post, a user says OpenAI’s official Codex harness was reportedly destroying SSDs and maxing out disk usage on both Windows and Mac.
Teknium’s reply is a blunt endorsement of an alternative: if you want to use GPT-5.6, he says, use Hermes Agent instead. The post is essentially a firsthand complaint plus tool recommendation around coding-agent reliability and system load.
