A repost of a Hugging Face / OpenAI drama says that if people call the story a PR stunt, they are effectively accusing Hugging Face of lying to the police.
- The quoted argument claims the alternative is that OpenAI believed it was net-positive to give Hugging Face a criminal cause of action — even a felony-level incident — and still thought the PR tradeoff was worth it.
