SK Hynix inventory trends may matter more than Q2 results, analyst says
tengyanAI · x · 2026-07-26
The post argues that the biggest opportunities appear where fundamentals and market expectations diverge, and uses SK Hynix as an example.
It says July’s selloff may have been driven by markets overpricing a collapse in memory demand and underestimating how slowly price increases show up in Hynix’s reported numbers. Citing historical price pass-through patterns, Korean customs data, and South Nanya’s Q2 revenue, it argues Q2 likely remained a strong memory-demand quarter.
The key warning sign is rising inventory at Hynix. If Q2 results show:
- higher inventory days
- slower overall price growth
- weaker shipment or demand guidance
then it would suggest the supply-demand balance in memory hardware is deteriorating at the margin. The author says guidance will matter more than the Q2 print itself.
