AI art debate: the tool matters less than how it is used

sebkrier · x · 2026-07-26

The post argues that knee-jerk “no AI in art” reactions often come from people who barely engage with art, while the real issue is not whether AI is used, but how it is used and in what creative process.

It says there is plenty of lazy, bad art made with and without AI, but also genuinely interesting collectives using AI in novel, non-lazy ways. The post’s point is that tool choice alone tells you almost nothing about artistic quality.
