Anthropic allocates $200 million to RCTs and policy pilots
NathanpmYoung · x · 2026-07-26
Anthropic says it will allocate $200 million to support RCTs and pilot studies, including work with partners that can scale effective small pilots.
The company says it is looking for studies that:
- use randomized assignment or other causal research designs
- are large enough to detect policy-relevant effects, often with sample sizes in the thousands to tens of thousands of workers
- partner with state, local, or national government agencies where relevant
- pre-register designs and publish results regardless of outcome
- translate directly into policy levers governments can use
- can scale beyond the initial analysis phase
