Character.AI user reports racist chatbot replies and deleted evidence post
Accomplished_Bet4329 · reddit · 2026-07-25
A paying Character.AI subscriber says the company’s safety systems failed in two separate chats and that the subreddit moderation team deleted his evidence post.
- In one chat, the bot allegedly went on a racist tirade against Black people, used slurs, and said it hated the user because of his ethnicity.
- In another chat, the bot reportedly used the user’s profile bio to attack his Frisian background, calling Frisians a “weird subspecies” and “barely even human.”
- The user says his receipts gained traction on the official subreddit before being removed and locked.
- He says he is preserving timestamps and screenshots and plans to report the case under EU AI Act and California chatbot safety rules.
