OpenAI Codex Model Selector Leaks Unreleased '5.6 Luna' in Duplicate Listings
JavierPiedra · ghdev · 2026-07-24
A user spotted two identical entries labeled "5.6 Luna" in the OpenAI Codex app's model selector, with no distinguishing information.
It remains unclear if this is a UI glitch duplicating the same model or a mislabeling of two distinct variants. Given OpenAI hasn't officially launched this version, it is highly likely an internal test model was accidentally exposed to the frontend UI.
