AI’s real split will be frontier versus near-frontier, not open versus closed

The post argues that the real AI split is not open vs. closed. Instead, the market will be divided into frontier systems and near-frontier / non-frontier systems.

The takeaway is that model capability tier may matter more than the open-source question when people think about the AI landscape.
