NeurIPS reviewers and authors get joked into an Opus version race

NeurIPS review season turns into an “Opus arms race” joke
In a reply thread about NeurIPS reviews, the poster jokes that neither side is reading or writing from scratch anymore:
- the paper is written with one Claude Opus version,
- the reviewer writes the review with a newer Opus version,
- the authors then rebut with yet another version.
The punchline is that the whole review process feels like an AI-assisted arms race, with the only hope being that a newer model doesn’t ship before rebuttals close.
