A Reddit post reports an 8-pass production test of Kimi K3 while building a 75-second deep-sea explainer video.
The creator says the project was not text-to-video: licensed footage and scientific images formed the visual layer, while depth gauges, density/temperature curves, trench profiles, and a Burj Khalifa comparison were generated with HTML/SVG/JS and rendered frame by frame in Playwright at 4K.
The pipeline used ffmpeg for deterministic editing tasks such as normalization, grading, concat, overlays, subtitles, TTS placement, music mixing, timing, and final encoding. K3 was useful across repeated revisions, especially as changes moved between graphics, timing, audio, and compositing. The author’s main takeaway was that editability and human review mattered more than full autonomy.
