Grok 4.5 cache-read price cut lowers task cost by 25%
Baconbrix · x · 2026-07-25
A quoted post says Grok 4.5’s cache-read price has been cut, bringing total task cost down by about 25%.
The same post argues that Grok 4.5 is now significantly better value than Opus 4.8 for browser use. In the quoted evaluation, Grok 4.5 had already landed above GPT-5.6-Sol and just below Opus on browser-use performance; because cache input was expensive, the overall cost had only been about 10% cheaper than Opus before the price change.
