Jensen Huang says Chinese open models grow the whole AI market, not fight it

In an Axios interview, Jensen Huang argues that Chinese open models are not adversarial to closed models — they expand the market by making high-quality AI more available.
He specifically says the market underestimated DeepSeek the first time and is doing the same with Kimi now. Huang also defends distillation as a fundamental part of intelligence: people and systems learn by absorbing knowledge from others, so learning from models and other sources should be seen as normal rather than suspicious.
