Huawei pitches a new scaling path under U.S. sanctions

A South China Morning Post report says Huawei founder Ren Zhengfei described a new “Tau Scaling Law” as important to the company’s survival.

The point of the framework, according to the post, is to keep advancing chips without relying on EUV lithography. That makes this less about model software and more about the hardware and supply-chain constraints shaping China’s AI chip trajectory under sanctions.
