A joke prompt told Codex to build and run “BenchBench,” then figure out “BenchBenchBench,” and turn the whole thing into an arXiv-style paper. The result was a PDF.
The punchline: it wasn’t just nonsense. The generated paper was apparently interesting enough that the poster thought it was worth sharing, which makes this a neat example of LLMs producing convincing research-flavored artifacts from absurd instructions.
