A MIT-led materials project on multi-agent inverse design of block polypeptoids was selected in the first round of Genesis Mission awards.
- The effort aims to build a national platform where AI, national-lab compute, and experiments work as one adaptive instrument.
- The research tackles a core materials-science problem: we can read biological structure, but we still cannot reliably write it.
- The team plans to use multi-agent systems, physics/thermodynamics models, simulation, automated synthesis, and high-throughput characterization in a closed loop to discover design rules and generate complex biomaterials on demand.
