Anthropic launches Claude Opus 5 as its strongest model for biology and chemistry

Anthropic has announced Claude Opus 5, positioning it as its most capable generally available model for biology and chemistry.
According to the quoted post, Opus 5 outperforms Opus 4.8 across all bio evaluations, is especially strong in organic chemistry and protein design, and feels better for long, hours-long research tasks. The official launch note also says it comes close to frontier intelligence at half the price.
