Claude Opus 5 reportedly refuses to quote its own system card over copyright concerns

Claude Opus 5 appears to be unusually strict about copyright: one screenshot says it refused to quote from its own system card, even while the user argued the PDF was public and quotation should be allowed.

The image shows the model responding with a firm policy boundary, saying it uses a bright-line rule rather than a case-by-case fair-use judgment. The point being made is that the model treats “publicly available” as not enough to loosen the restriction.
