Investor says OpenAI and Anthropic may widen their lead as model gains accelerate

A speaker argues that U.S. frontier AI labs will keep widening their lead over the next few quarters.
He says OpenAI and Anthropic already have even better internal models, expects their best systems to improve dramatically in the second half of the year and into next year, and points to recursive self-improvement as a reason capabilities could accelerate very quickly over the next 6–9 months.
He also comments on open-weight regulation, saying he would rather avoid government overregulation and let the market decide more of the pace.
