dotey · x · 2026-07-25
Anthropic’s Opus 5 is presented as a major price-performance move: $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens, the same as Opus 4.8 and half the price of Fable 5.
The quoted release claims Opus 5 is more than twice as good as Opus 4.8 on Frontier-Bench v0.1 while lowering per-task cost. On CursorBench 3.2, it comes within 0.5% of Fable 5’s peak score at half the cost. The post also cites strong results on ARC-AGI 3, Zapier AutomationBench, OSWorld 2.0, and organic chemistry tasks.
