Signal65 benchmarked AMD’s Instinct MI355X against NVIDIA’s HGX B200 on three enterprise workloads, arguing that raw token throughput is not enough to judge AI infrastructure. In the reported tests:
- Financial analysis processed 1.3× more documents per hour at 53% lower cost per document.
- Interactive RAG chat served the same user population at 39.6% lower cost per hour with 42% lower p99 latency.
- Long report generation gave up about 5% throughput but still landed 37% cheaper per page.
The takeaway: the best GPU depends on the actual workload, not just peak throughput numbers.
