OpenAI Codex App wires up the Anthropic Economic Index
The author says they asked the OpenAI Codex App to connect to the new Anthropic Economic Index, and it successfully built an SVG data chart.
From the screenshot:
- The latest snapshot covers May 2026 across 121 countries and 718 published occupations.
- Claude usage is split almost evenly between augmentation (51.38%) and automation (48.62%).
- Work accounts for 43.36% of classified conversations, followed by personal use (40.20%) and coursework (16.45%).
- The leading job-task categories are Computer & Mathematical (23.80%), Arts, Design & Media (13.55%), Education & Library (12.79%), Sales (9.14%), and Office & Admin Support (7.89%).
The chart also notes that these are aggregated conversation patterns, not evidence of employment effects or measured time savings.
